A quarter-circle at 10 DME

At a 10 NM radius, a 90° arc is one quarter of a circle: 2 × π × 10 × 90 / 360 = 15.71 NM.

A 90° change in radial is the angle swept; it is not a 90 NM distance. This geometry excludes entry, exit and any tracking deviations.

Formula and method

Arc length equals the selected fraction of a circle multiplied by the circumference at the entered DME radius.
